Summer Events

The Foodie Chick Event is the latest concept brought to you by Chick Events. Guests will feast on top restaurant bites, local KC wine, craft beer, coffee & tea and vote for their favorites. Enjoy tastings from Kansas City restaurants, a dozen specialty drinks (wine, beer, coffee) in addition to shopping our marketplace filled with artisan food and food/drink/ entertaining product vendors. This inaugural event will take place on the streets of Park Place for a tasting & shopping experience unlike any other for all foodies. Ticket sales for this event will support our non-profit partner NewHouse.

Vendor Information

  • We are SOLD OUT OF ALL VENDOR SPACE FOR THIS EVENT. Please contact us to be placed on a wait list.
  • Chick Events are juried, meaning all vendors must go through the application process and not all applications are accepted. You will be contacted within 10 business days regarding your application status.
  • We anticipate up to 1500 ticketed guests and the event is open to the public for shopping the Marketplace. Only ticketed guests may taste.

Q + A

Is there a fee to participate as a vendor?

There is a $250 fee for marketplace vendors who sell product. This fee includes tenting. There is no fee for restaurants, breweries & wineries providing tasting samples. Tents are not included for tasting vendors. They may bring their own 10×10 tent or may rent from All Seasons.

Where is the event and is it indoors or outdoors?

The event is at Park Place in Leawood (117th & Nall). This is an outdoor event on the streets of Park Place. We will close down Ash Street and 116th Place to line the streets with tasting and shopping tents for one amazing night fit for foodies! The event will be held rain or shine!

When is set up?

Set up is the day of the event, Saturday, July 22nd between 11am – 3pm. Vendors will be scheduled for a move in time as we get closer to the event.

Do booths come with tables and chairs?

No, we do not provide tables and chairs in the $250 vendor fee or for any tasting businesses.  You may bring your own tables and chairs or rent them from All Seasons. Rentals will be in your space when vendors arrive for set up.

How many guests do you expect?

We hope to sell 2500 tasting tickets. The event will be open to the public to shop the marketplace section of the event and to enjoy music and purchase a drink from a Park Place street bar. Only ticketed guests will be allowed to taste.

How do I buy a ticket?

Tickets are available for $35 online through 7/21 or available at the door during the event 4-9pm for $40 (while supplies last).

What is included in the Tasting Ticket?

Tasting tickets will include tastings from all restaurants, coffee and tea vendors. Guests over 21 will enjoy complimentary tastings from local wineries and breweries. All guests will receive a commemorative wine glass for tastings. Guests will also vote for their event favorites in these categories:
“Best Bite” – restaurants
“Best Red” & “Best White” – wineries
“Best Craft Beer” – breweries
“Best Brew” – coffee/tea

Guests will additionally enjoy shopping the Marketplace sections of the event for local artisan food & handmade products that all foodies should have in their homes!

Cash bars will be available & Park Place will offer restaurant reservations for their August Park Place Restaurant Week.

What is a VIP Tasting Experience?

VIP Tasting Experience tickets are limited to 48 guests per Tasting Experience. The $50 fee also includes the general Tasting Ticket ($30-$35 value based on when you purchase). The additional cost will be for the VIP Tasting and seminar. Each “Experience” will provide you delicious pairings & an educational experience with the makers!

Are children allowed?

This is not an adult only event. Tasting tickets may be purchased for anyone of any age. Complimentary wine and beer tastings will be available for ticketed guests 21 and over. There are no discounts for children or guests who do not want wine or beer tastings.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, Park Place is dog friendly so please bring your furry friends. They must be on leashes and please clean up after them.

Do I have to have a ticket to attend?

The event is open to the public and all guests may enjoy shopping the Marketplace, music and buy drinks from the cash bars. Only ticketed guests will be able to do any tastings from restaurants, wineries &  breweries. All Park Place stores and restaurants will also be open to the general public for additional shopping, dining and more!

Can I purchase additional drinks at the event?

Yes, we will offer 2 cash bars at the event, featuring beer, wine and cocktails. The bars will be hosted by Gordon Biersch and 801 Chophouse.

Does this event support a non-profit?

Yes, Chick Events always tries to partner with a local non-profit. Our goal is to bring awareness and much needed funds to non-profit organizations. For the Foodie Chick Event we are proud to partner with NewHouse. The mission of Newhouse is to break the cycle of domestic violence by providing the tools that allow women to make positive choices and lead self-sufficient and fulfilling lives. Ticket sales will support our monetary donation to this worthy and incredible partner.

Why did the start time change to 6pm?

Due to the NWS heat advisory in effect until Saturday at 8pm for Johnson County we felt changing the start time is in the best interest for all guests and vendors. There will still be plenty of time to enjoy all the tastings, marketplace shopping and all the event happenings. The VIP Tasting Times remain the same.
