Spring Events

We are thrilled to return to Summit Fair Shopping Center to kick off the year with our Spring Handmade Chick Event for the second year. This indoor event will feature close to 60 handmade vendors with fresh, new spring products. Just in time for Mother’s Day and Graduation gift shopping!

Vendor Information

  • We are currently accepting applications for vendors. The application deadline is 2/15/17. You must sell handmade products to qualify for the event. Unfortunately, due to restrictions at Summit Fair, we cannot accept any antique, used or consignment-type products at this event. All “vintage”products sold must be re-furbished in some way.
  • Chick Events are juried, meaning all vendors must go through the application process and not all applications are accepted. All applicants will be notified by 2/27/17 if they have been accepted or placed on our wait list.
  • This event will include approximately 60 vendors.
  • Vendor booth fees are $350 for a 100 sq. ft. space and $250 for a 50 sq. ft. space.

Is this event indoors or outdoors?

The event will be held at Summit Fair Shopping Center (910 NW Blue Parkway) inside a store location. The previous store was I.O. Metro. The store is on the JCPenney side of the shopping center, directly across from Christopher Banks.

What is included in the booth fee?

The $350 booth fee is for a 100 sq. ft. space inside the store. The $250 booth fee is for a 50 sq. ft. space inside the “storage” area of the store. This area of the store is shopped just as much as the other. Larger space may be requested. There will not be any pipe and drape to separate booths. Space will be taped off but you will be side by side with your neighbor with no pipe/drape separation. Tables and chairs are NOT included in the booth fee. You may rent them through our contractor or you may bring your own.

When is set up?

Set up is scheduled for Wednesday, 4/19 and Thursday, 4/20 from 10am-6pm. More details will be provided as we get closer to the event.

Do booths come with tables and chairs?

No, we do not provide tables and chairs in our booth fee. You may bring your own or rent from our rental company. More rental details will be available as we get closer to the event.

How many guests do you expect?

We have hosted 2 events at this location. In April, 2016 we had close to 6,000 guests and in December, 2016 we had 5,800 guests attend.

How do you select your vendors?

We consider all applications and make decisions bases on the following criteria:
– Product category (we like a wide variety of products and no more than a few of the same kinds of products – i.e. KC tees, wood signs, prints, jewelry)
– Product prices
– New or returning vendors (we like a mix so our shoppers see their favorites but also get to meet new makers and our show remains exciting with fresh, new products)
– Previous vendors should have new or seasonal product for our shoppers
– This event will are looking for good gift ideas for Mother’s Day and Graduation
– Amazing booth displays

When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets will go on sale February 21, 2017. If you are a Top Chick Club Member, you will receive a ticket to this event as part of your membership. Sign up now for your $20 annual membership!

Are strollers allowed?

We certainly accept strollers but please note the event space is very tight and it will be difficult to maneuver the aisles with large strollers. We highly recommend bringing babies in carriers/slings if possible. Children 12 and under are free to enter the event.

Will there be food at this event?

While we will have a few artisan food vendors to purchase from, there will not be any food served at this event for lunch or dinner. Summit Fair has a few restaurant options and many options across the way at Summit Crossing.

Where do I park?

There are over 2,000 parking spots available at Summit Fair. You may park in any designated parking spot. The closest parking spots are directly on Main Street or Blue Parkway or in any of the parking lots.

Why do you charge an entrance fee?

Chick Events works hard year round with a full time team as a professional event planning company. We charge a nominal entrance fee to pay to put on the event and ticket sales are the only way our business makes a profit. We have never taken a percentage of sales from our vendors and never plan to. Everything you spend to #shopsmall stays with them. We understand some people do not want to pay to shop but we hope the $5 fee is understandable and well worth it to meet so many amazing makers.
