Spring Chick Event

We are thrilled to kick off 2018 with our Spring Chick Event in a new location! This weekend April 28-29, Downtown Olathe welcomes Chick Events to the streets for another fabulous Chick Event.

Vendor Information

  • Chick Events are juried, meaning all vendors must go through the application process and not all applications are accepted. All applicants will be notified by within 10 days of applying if they have been accepted or placed on our wait list.
  • This event will include approximately 125 vendors.
  • Vendor booth fees are $350 for a 100 sq. ft. space. Upgrade costs for corners and electrical.

Q + A

Is this event indoors or outdoors?

The event will be held outdoors in Downtown Olathe on Cherry and Park Streets. We will close down the streets to cars and line the street with tents. Since the event is outdoors there is always a risk for uncooperative weather. Chick Events cannot be held responsible for any weather damage to products.

What is included in the booth fee?

The $350 booth fee is for a 100 sq. ft. space under professional tenting. You will have a 10×10 space with a vinyl back wall and tent roof. There will not be pipe and drape between you and your neighbor but we will mark the space. Tables and chairs are NOT included in the booth fee. You may rent them through our contractor or you may bring your own. Electrical may be rented for $25 fee ahead of time. No electrical orders on site will be available. Chick Events will need to rent electrical boards for this event.

When is set up?

Set up is scheduled for Friday, 4/27 from 12pm – 7pm.

Do booths come with tables and chairs?

No, we do not provide tables and chairs in our booth fee. You may bring your own or rent from our rental company. More rental details will be available as we get closer to the event.

How many guests do you expect?

We average 5,000-7,000 at all our events. This is a first time location for us but we have received a great response so far about being in downtown Olathe! We expect a great turnout, especially of new shoppers!

How do you select your vendors?

We consider all applications and make decisions bases on the following criteria:
– Product category (we like a wide variety of products and no more than a few of the same kinds of products – i.e. KC tees, wood signs, prints, jewelry)
– Product prices
– New or returning vendors (we like a mix so our shoppers see their favorites but also get to meet new makers and our show remains exciting with fresh, new products)
– Previous vendors should have new or seasonal product for our shoppers
– This event will are looking for good gift ideas for Mother’s Day and Graduation
– Amazing booth displays

Is this event indoors or outdoors?

The event will be on the streets of downtown Olathe (Cherry & Park Street). It’s an outdoor event so please plan to dress accordingly for weather conditions.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets are available online for $5 or at the event for $5 daily or $7 for a weekend pass. We will have 4 ticket tents at each entrance to the event.  If you are a Top Chick Club Member, you will receive a ticket to this event as part of your membership. Sign up now for your $20 annual membership!

Are strollers allowed?

Yes, strollers are always allowed at our events but the streets can get very crowded and it may be hard to navigate during our busiest hours.

Will there be food at this event?

YES! We will have plenty of local food trucks at the event and local Olathe Dub V’s will be open during the event as well as other downtown Olathe specialty food shops.

Where do I park?

All parking in downtown Olathe is free. There is plenty of garage and surface street parking off Santa Fe, Kansas Ave., Chestnut and Loula. There will be ticket booths at all entrances to the event on Park and Cherry Streets. Look for the ticket tents!

Why do you charge an entrance fee?

Chick Events works hard year round with a full time team as a professional event planning company. We charge a nominal entrance fee to pay to put on the event and ticket sales are the only way our business makes a profit. We have never taken a percentage of sales from our vendors and never plan to. Everything you spend to #shopsmall stays with them. We understand some people do not want to pay to shop but we hope the $5 fee is understandable and well worth it to meet so many amazing makers.

Will there be beer and wine at the event?

YES! Dub V’s (North side of Cherry Street) will be hosting a bar at the event in front of their restaurant with beer, wine and cocktails. You may not leave the event space with drinks so please enjoy within the event perimeters.

Are dogs allowed at the event?

Yes, the event allows dogs. Please keep them leashed and clean up after any messes! We have a few pet vendors so they will love their treats and other pet goodies.

Do you have a non-profit partner?

Yes, Make-A-Wish Foundation is our non-profit partner for this event. They will be at the event in a sponsor tent so please drop by to meet the folks that make KC kid’s wishes come true!

Are children free?

Yes, children 12 and under are always free at Chick Events!
